FAQ

Questions patients ask us

If something is not answered here, write on WhatsApp. Real questions from patients get added to this page.

General

Safety is a property of the clinic, not of the country. Ours uses the same materials, brands and protocols found across the European Union — certified implant systems, CAD/CAM zirconia, single-use instruments, class B autoclave sterilisation with logged cycles. Judge any clinic abroad on four things: the qualifications of the clinical team, the diagnostic process, the sterilisation standards, and the documentation you are sent home with. Ask us for all four and we will send them.

Dentists in Albania complete a five- or six-year university degree followed by specialisation, and many train further in Italy, Germany or Turkey. Ask us for the individual qualifications of the dentist who would treat you and we will send them.

A lower cost base: rent, salaries, taxes and laboratory work. Our laboratory is in-house, which removes another margin. The saving is structural, not a discount on quality.

Yes. Send a panoramic X-ray or CBCT and you receive a written preliminary plan with an itemised price. The definitive plan is confirmed after clinical examination.

No. The online consultation, the review of your X-ray and the written plan are free and carry no obligation.

English, Italian and Albanian, including at the chair.

Travel

EU, UK, US, Canadian and Australian citizens do not need a visa and may stay up to 90 days.

About 17 km, 25 to 35 minutes by car. We collect you on arrival.

Airport transfer assistance is available depending on your treatment package. Ask your coordinator which options apply to your case.

Yes. We recommend hotels at three price levels near the clinic and book on your behalf without adding commission.

Two to three days for crowns and fillings, three to four for implant surgery, six to seven for a full arch. Your plan states the exact number.

It is not required, but for full-arch surgery or sedation many patients find it easier. Companions cost nothing extra in our arrangements.

For routine surgery, yes. After a sinus lift we ask you to wait 48 hours.

Dental implants

Our certified implant system, with an internationally available component system. The exact implant system used for your case is stated in your personalised quotation.

Survival rates above 95% at ten years are reported in the literature, and with good hygiene implants routinely last decades. The crown on top may need replacing sooner.

The surgery is done under local anaesthetic and is not painful. Two to three days of swelling afterwards respond to ordinary painkillers.

Bone substitute and a membrane are placed to rebuild the site, or a sinus lift is done in the upper jaw. This is planned from the CBCT and priced in advance.

Smoking substantially increases the risk of implant failure. We ask you to stop for at least two weeks before and eight weeks after surgery, and to reduce permanently.

Three to six months between implant placement and the final crown or bridge.

All-on-4 and All-on-6

Two extra implants. All-on-6 distributes load better and is our usual recommendation for the upper jaw and for heavy or grinding bites; All-on-4 is faster, less expensive and often avoids grafting.

Yes. A fixed temporary bridge is screwed onto the implants within 24 to 72 hours of surgery.

Two, of about a week each, three to six months apart.

Not every patient does. The CBCT shows the available bone; where grafting, regeneration or a sinus lift is necessary, it is quoted separately and in advance.

Crowns and veneers

Zirconia for strength, back teeth and long bridges. E-max for maximum translucency on single front teeth and thin veneers.

Ten to fifteen years typically, often longer. Hygiene at the margin decides more than the material does.

Between 0.3 and 0.7 mm of enamel is removed, and it is irreversible. Where teeth are already worn or bonded, very little healthy tissue is lost.

Four to six days, including a try-in appointment before the ceramics are finished.

Payment

Cash in euro or lek, and card at the clinic.

Payment terms depend on the planned treatment. Your personalised proposal specifies any deposit, the payments due at each treatment stage and the methods accepted.

The quotation prepared from your X-ray is preliminary. It is confirmed after the clinical examination in Tirana, and anything that changes is explained and agreed with you before treatment continues.

It depends on the treatment and on prices where you live. The differences are largest on multiple implants, full-arch restorations and extensive crown work. Compare complete treatment plans rather than single procedure prices.

Yes, for every payment, which you can submit to an insurer at home.

Aftercare

You leave with your full clinical file, X-rays, implant passport and written instructions. Your coordinator stays reachable on WhatsApp.

Your coordinator, directly. The clinical team reviews your symptoms and advises on the next step; depending on the issue you may be asked for photographs, an X-ray, or a visit to a local dentist, who receives our records.

Any warranty is specific to the procedure, the restoration, the implant system and the clinical conditions. Where one applies, its conditions are provided in writing as part of your treatment documentation.

Every six months, with us or with a dentist at home who receives our records. Implant-supported bridges need a professional clean underneath once a year.

Before you compare clinics

The questions people actually search before flying

Most dental-tourism pages answer the easy question — is it cheaper. These are the harder ones, answered plainly. If another clinic will not answer them in writing, that itself is an answer.

Albania or Turkey for dental implants?

Neither country is automatically better, and any clinic claiming otherwise is selling rather than advising. Compare clinic to clinic: who performs the surgery, which implant system, what the final prosthesis is made of, how many trips, and what the written aftercare says.

Is Albania cheaper than treatment at home?

For multiple implants and full-arch work, usually by a wide margin. But a saving is only real if the comparison uses the same implant brand, the same prosthetic material and the same inclusions. Compare complete treatment plans, never headline figures.

What must a dental quote from abroad contain?

The name of the treating surgeon and prosthodontist, the implant brand and model, the number of implants, the material of the final bridge, whether temporary teeth are fixed or removable, whether CBCT is included, which extra procedures are excluded, the number of trips, and the written aftercare terms.

Is it safe to have implants in Albania?

Safety is a property of the clinic, not of the country. Judge any clinic abroad on four things: the qualifications of its team, its diagnostic process, its sterilisation standards, and the documentation you are sent home with. Ask us for all four and we will send them.

How many days and how many trips does a full arch take?

Two trips. Six to seven days for surgery and the fixed temporary bridge, then five to seven days for the definitive prosthesis, three to six months later. Anyone promising final teeth in a single week is loading a permanent restoration onto unhealed implants.

What happens if there is a problem after I fly home?

You leave with your CBCT, the implant passport carrying the lot numbers, and written instructions — everything a dentist anywhere in Europe needs to service the work. Warranty conditions are given in writing with your treatment documentation, not promised vaguely in advance.

Prices are our published figures for the whole mouth. The definitive plan follows clinical and radiographic assessment.
